I have been doing a bit of non Stampin' Up! creating lately. I made two mini albums, one out of envelopes and cards and the other out of lunch sized paper bags. The tutorials I followed were from Kathy Orta on YouTube here and here. And I had a wonderful time with both of them. I purchased two of her tutorials from Paper Phenomenon and started working on the first one earlier this week. I am intending on gifting it to my sister for her birthday next month... not saying which one though as both of my sisters birthday's are in July... I am using a paper collection from DCWV called The Chateau Lavender stack and it has a nice varriety of florals and vintage inspired prints and the colors are just beautiful! I am also using some Tim Holtz Distress ink in dusty concord and it is the perfect color to go with the collection.
The tutorial I am using is the Build-a-Page tutorial and it is a bit more challenging because you are making the pages from scratch instead of using something that is already pre-made like an envelope but I am learning a lot and having a great time. It gives me some quiet time and some time to catch up on "Cranford" and "Lark Rise to Candleford", I could watch all day long and not tire from it.... It is my one weakness... Both series casts Julia sawalha and I just adore her!
My mom has asked me to teach her how to make an album and I am seriously considering asking if anyone else would like to make one. I think if we were motivated enough we could get it done in a couple evenings
I made went through both of my completed albums and recorded it to show what mine look like and the materials that I used.
